N'guessan has devoted 15 years to cocoa farming on his 2-hectare farm. Living with his partner and four children, his life is deeply rooted in the land he cultivates. As the yields on the farm decreased year by year, family income came under pressure but N’guessan received advice from the Cocoa Horizons coach to turn the tide.

The turning point came when the Cocoa Horizons coach introduced N’guessan to a farm diagnosis and Farm Business Plan (FBP). He received personalised recommendations on farm maintenance, such as soil inputs, planting material, pruning to increase yield on his farm.

Life-changing advice

The FBP diagnosis was an eye-opener, focusing on essentials N'guessan now swears by. The coach's guidance wasn't just about farming. It helps N'Guessan to improve the farm yields long-term,  the income he earns from cocoa farming and the family livelihood.

The coach recommended how to maintain the farm well. Because when you take good care of your farm, it will benefit you to take good care of your family.

N’guessan’s partner aspires to open her own local fashion business. N’guessan hopes to contribute to her starting up soon with the income from cocoa. Together, they imagine a future where their ventures provide for their family's needs, supported by the success of N'guessan's farm.
